Lunch with TNO – Toronto, Ontario
The NVA recently hosted a meeting in Toronto, Canada with TNO – the Netherlands’ scientific research, development, and commercialization organization. TNO, represtented at the event by Jeroen Ploeg and Sorin Stan, is taking a very aggressive approach to bringing ICT and the automotive world together.
They are focusing on three key areas: Clean and economic, Safe driving, cooperative driving. They have engaged most of the world’s auto OEM’s in several of their projects. Of most interest to the NVA membership is what they are doing to leverage existing communications infrastructures to drive individual and infrastructure benefits. Much if this activity can avoid interacting with the vehicle communications systems (and the inherent legal issues).
