A key aspect for the innovation partnership between the Automotive and the IT industry in the next 5-10 years to come will be connecting the vehicle to modern mobile broadband communication infrastructures to close the gap between home, personal and office connectivity which already became part of our “digital lifestyle”. The vehicle is in a transition phase from an autonomous system to a fully integrated part of a highly connected network which covers all aspects of customer communication requirements, customer relevant services, safety, traffic, efficient use of energy and financial transactions. This transition will have a massive impact on the automotive supply chain and the related value chain.
